About Laura

Laura Fuentes is a Baltimore-area librettist, playwright, and mother of two. Her works for the operatic stage have been commissioned and performed by the Washington National Opera's American Opera Initiative, The Glimmerglass Festival, Peabody Opera Theatre, Boston Opera Collaborative, Art Song Colorado/Sohap Ensemble, College Light Opera Company, and Victorian Lyric Opera Company. 

As a playwright, Laura's work has been performed by the Horticulture Playwright's Workshop,  Interrobang Theatre, and Avant Bard Theatre's Scripts in Play new works festival, as well as the Kennedy Center's Page to Stage Festival.  

Laura holds a Bachelor of Arts from the College of William and Mary, a Master of Music degree from Towson University, and a Master of Arts from Johns Hopkins University.
